EB v City of Orlando

Client, a graduate student in Engineering, while unloading groceries from his mother's car, was approached by non-uniformned, armed city police officer who asked if he was an individual they were looking for. He stated he was not and refused to provide officers identification because they refused to provide their badges and left the scene. Officers subsequently performed an armed felony stop on client at the bus station where he went to pick up his friend. Client was arrested for resisting an officer without violence and spent one day in jail. Charges were not filed by the State Attorney. Our firm filed a Notice of Claim with the city alleging federal civil rights violations, false arrest, and false imprisonnment. City settled prior to filing suit for $20,000.

F.G. v Allstate Insurance Co.

Husband and wife clients were rear ended in their vehicle by negligent driver. Both husband and wife received injuries to their back. We initially settled with negligent driver's insurance company for policy limits. Then, we sought additional recovery against the clients' Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist portion of their insurance policy. In lieu of filing a lawsuit, we recovered an additional $32,000.00 from the stacked policy limits of $40,000.00 for clients.

M.F. v Zurich Insurance Co.

Client was rear ended by commercial tow-truck and received injury to her back. After client was released from doctor's treatment, we filed a demand for settlement with the tow truch company's insurance company. Using a unique online mediation service, we obtained a settlement of $23,750.00.

J.J. v Insurance Co.

Client was rear-ended by negligent driver. Client received injury to his back. The spinal disc injury required corrective surgery. Before incurring the expense of filing suit, we settled with the negligent driver's insurance company for $100,000.00.

SH v Orange County Sheriff's Office

Client stopped at gas station to use restroom. Client entered the single men's restroom which was occupied by female deputy who became upset and belligerent. Client went back to vehicle and drove away. Female deputy followed client and performed a traffic stop. Client was arrested for DUI and spent one day in jail. Breath Alcohol Test revealed no alcohol in system and urine sample revealed no presence of drugs. Our firm filed a Notice of Claim with the OCSO alleging federal civil rights violations, false arrest, and false imprisonnment. Sheriff's Office settled prior to filing suit for $12,750.

Software Co. v City of Orlando

City entered into a purchase agreement with Client for client's software.
Client received half of the contract amount to start. Client spent 8 months installing and modifying program at City's request. City then decided it did not want the program and refused to pay. Our firm filed suit for Breach of Contract. After almost two years of litigation, City agreed to settle the case.

J.O. et al v. South Coast Enterprises, LLC

Client, a successful mortgage broker, ordered breakfast and a cup of coffee at the drive through window at Burger King. The Burger King employee handed our client a hot cup of coffee with the lid not properly secured. Client sustained burns to his legs and genital region. Burger King settled prior to suit for $43,000.00.
